The way points of this running / walking route:
Start up the main street through the middle of the town of Kasubuchi (粕淵).
Turn right off the main road as you cross over a little stream.
At the far end of the bridge turn right and then take the rightmost fork of the two roads. This leads down under the end of the railway bridge.
Turn left after passing under the bridge and continue through the small hamlet of Noi
Scenic riverside views. There is very limited traffic but be careful because the road is very narrow
Definitely another viewpoint moment. Look back up the river to Kasubuchi
Another little villagette
The hydroelectric power outlet from the Hamahara dam is here. The water flows straight through the hill
Monkeys have been seen here
The Ago bridge (Ago ohashi) is surprisingly photogenic for a lump of blue painted steel. It also makes a great point for more photos in both directions
It may be worth making a slight detour up the hill to the left here (road signed Okuyama - 奥山) until you come to the Shinto shrine which is IMO quite picturesque
Assuming clear non-hazy weather the view from here towards Kasubuchi with Mt Sanbe in the background is really striking
Pop down the boat ramp here to river level and enjoy views of the temple, the railway bridge and lots of reflections in the river
