The way points of this running / walking route:
If there are no other hikers on the trail, I go downhill (off the trail) and let the dogs off leash (illegal, against Park regs! so do at your own risk) to play at the dam below the small lake here, then we follow the Sycamore Creek precisely and stop to play in the water anywhere from once or twice to 6 or 8 more times before crossing under the power lines
crossing under the power lines - be very careful of picking up ticks on this tall grass. don't let the dogs off leash near here
if you want to let the dogs off leash to play in the creek again be sure to do it now or wait until after you've crossed under the power lines again (tick-infestation risks!)
Where the trail makes a 90-degree turn (it's either here or on the other side of the power lines) there's a really great little pool where the creek turns sharply too. The water is as much as 3-4 ft deep sometimes, esp. after a recent rain
