The way points of this running / walking route:
Head down the hill opposite Through St to Fairview Park
Take the path along the Yarra here and enjoy the serenity, lots of people rowing or walking dogs.
It's always worth stopping for a moment to look at the bank of windows in the big apartment building here.
Walk up through the Leonda car park and cross the bridge over the Yarra
Just over the bridge take a sharp left and down the steps to the bike and foot path along the Yarra.
If you've got time, have a wander through the picturesque Burnley Gardens, or just follow the footpath along the river.
Nice views of the Yarra all along here.
Take the pedestrian overpass over the river, where it joins Gardiner's Creek and then follow the shared bike path/footpath under the freeway
Keep hard left and watch out for speeding cyclists along here. They fly along.
You can get good glimpses of Kooyong on the right, or Scotch College grounds on the left here.
Leave the path here and head up the hill.

You can get an ice cream here or even a pizza, or just turn left to head back where you began.
