The way points of this running / walking route:
start, bridge stairs or milson's point railway station.
turn right, down stairs, across park.
turn right up stairs.
go up stairs to mosman st.
go up stairs, through small reserve on crest of ridge.
follow stairs down towards water and path to left.
turn right off sidewalk to path going diagonal to road.

go through old military base N.B. may close after sunset
up stairs
to left of old barracks(?) up bush track stairs
great look out here, recently re opened.
george's heights, new reserve, great views, free electric bbqs, artists in residence in restored former army hospital
cross road and go down stairs to balmoral oval, or turn right here to detour out to middle head or obelisk and cobbler's beaches.
go across oval to beach
various cafes and more serious restaurants
if high tide or not keen on rock scrambling and getting feet wet, go up stairs to wyargine street follow over to burran ave, hopetoun ave and walkway down to rosherville reserve and chinamans beach.
the route around the water line, usually involves at least getting your feet wet and some rock scrambling. sometimes the water can be waste high and the jumping and crawling over some boulders may be too hard for some.
where path comes down the alternative route
again a choice, along the water line or up the stairs to cyprian st. right at parriwi and follow it down to the spit. the water level route is not as tricky as the last one, but still tide dependant.........
go behind the sewer pumping building, and continue along the road in front the sailing clubs and restaurants to the bridge.
onto bridge footpath, cross bridge, occasionally goes up to allow sailing boats through. shouldnt hold you up very long and always good for a look.
turn down driveway to carpark, across carpark to start of spit to manly walk
there is a restaurant and kiosk here, hours are a bit unreliable.
turn righ and go along beach.
up stairs, bush track at end of beach
keep following signs to manly
detour here to south for grotto point and washaway beach. rough tracks only, some dificult terrain.
look out for opening to right of track, aboriginal rock carvings, with a great view.
lots of great view points along here.
nice lookout (lower) just off track here. you get to see manly, deceptively close now,
reef beach, used to be nudist, not sure if it still is, dont think so.
forty basket beach, netted swimming area too.
following asphalt road. past boat builders, can take waterline, just past boat shed if low tide, high tide would be very muddy so take road, up and around is much better,
boat shed here right, down along water or left up along road.
right down path across bridge over creek/waterfall.
down stairs to right
up stairs at north end of park
track doesnt continue as map says, go up boyle, right at king along lauderdale before track starts again
turn back right into reserve.
nice pool here.
manly cove, netted swimming area.
manly wharf. buses and ferries back to start, walk on to nth head or through corso to ocean beach and so on. cafes, restaurants, shops.
